Having spend some time investigating low-key lighting techniques (essentially, high contrast, deep shadows, dark background), I decided to make use of the studio and it’s myriad of equipment to plan a shoot.
I found a willing model known as Killer Kitten and we discussed creating a contemporary gothic style to the images which work well with the dark tones.
To really put the emphasis onto the tonality rather than colour, I wanted the majority of the shots to be monochrome. I think this worked quite well to create a bit of punch to the look and feel of the set.
Thanks goes out to Killer Kitten for her time and patience modelling for me and our studio technique lecturer, Alan, for some great ideas which I unashamedly stole for this shoot.
